The Manitoba Research Alliance (MRA) is a group of academic researchers, students, and community partners producing community-based research. The MRA, hosted by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives-Manitoba, has held 4 successful Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) grants.
In our current grant entitled Community-Driven Solutions to Poverty: Challenges and Possibilities, the MRA is supporting community-based research projects in four research streams:
- Community Economic Development (CED)
- Housing
- Education, Employment and Social Inclusion
- Justice, Safety and Security
MRA co-investigators, co-applicants, and collaborators are eligible to submit.
- You’re encouraged to be in touch with stream leads to talk about research; they are listed below with contact information.
- Here‘s a helpful guide with all of the application sections to help you prepare. Copy and paste the content so you can prepare your application.
- This budget template will assist in your preparation.
- We receive and review applications on a rolling basis. After your application is submitted, it will be forwarded on to our research stream leads. Submitting before the last day of each month increases the likelihood of your application being reviewed at the next month’s meeting.
- Please ensure that your research plans abide by university and public health guidelines as it pertains to COVID-19.
- For University of Manitoba academics, you will need to submit a FAAF and send it to the ORS ahead of your project’s submission. If you have any questions about this, contact our University of Manitoba lead, Ian Hudson.
- If you have any questions about the process, please contact mra@policyalternatives.ca
